The Clearing
My hooty hoo screeching sounded nothing at all like "turn around sweetheart, it's getting dark soon" so Kay kept on going until she walked right out of the woods and into a field. The clearing was a perfect square. Trees lined the edges and the tall grass in the center was sprinkled here and there with wildflowers. Even though she had finally realized the sun was setting she felt an indescribable desire to go stand in the center of that field. So she did.
